Deficit everywhere: Raushon

Raushon Ershad, leader of the opposition in parliament, on Wednesday said there is deficit not only in the national budget, but also everywhere, including socio-political ethics and political norms.

‘We all fall victims to political vendetta, we’ll have to come out from this situation. There’s deficit everywhere, including education and morality,’ she told parliament participating in the general discussion on the proposed budget for 2016-17 fiscal.

The Jatiya Party leader said the social tension cannot be stopped only by the police. ‘So, we all will have to sit together to find out a solution to the social instability.’

Talking about the $101 million cyber heist from the Bangladesh Bank, she said the reserve’s theft is the rare incident in Bangladesh and even in the World. ‘We’re yet to know how the reserve was stolen even after the investigation body placed its report.’

‘The standard of the education has fallen. Our students are not only weak in English, Sciences and Mathematics, but also in Bengali. The Digital Bangladesh will not be achieved without the improvement in quality of education. So, ensure the highest allocation for the education sector,’ she added.
