Khaleda infected with Coronavirus
BNP chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has been infected with Coronavirus, Health Directorate said today.
Her sample was given to icddr’b laboratory on April 10 and the report came positive for the virus on April 11.
However, BNP on Saturday said their chairperson didn’t give the sample for the Coronavirus test.
Quoting Khaleda’s personal physician Dr Mamun, Shairul Kabir Khan, a member of BNP Chairperson’s press wing, said they went to Khaleda’s residence ‘Feroza’ for regular health checkup. He (Mamun) didn’t collect Khaleda’s sample for the Coronavirus test.
To be noted, amid the coronavirus outbreak, the government freed Khaleda Zia from jail on conditions for six months on an executive order suspending her sentences on March 25 last year.
