AL activist killed in factional clash

A factional clash of local Awami League (AL) in Enayetpur upazila of Sirajganj has left an activist dead and 20 other leaders and ones injured.

Deceased Abdul Jalil was a member of 6 no. ward AL under Sodia Chandpur Union and son of Abu Sayeed, resident of Ajugara village in the upazila.

Local AL leaders and activist said the followers of local MP Abdul Momin, and former Fisheries and Livestock Minister Abdul Latif Bishwas clashed around 5:30pm on Wednesday during the council of Sodia Chandpur Union AL at Enayetpur Belit School and College ground, leaving one dead and at least 20 others injured.

Police, later, brought the situation under control, and additional cops were deployed in the spot to avoid further untoward situation.

Enayetpur Police Station officer in-charge (OC) Ataur Rahman confirmed the incident.
