Arrest warrant issued against Khaleda, Gayeshwar

An arrest warrant has been issued against BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and its standing committee member Gayeshwar Chandra Roy in two separate cases filed in Narail district.

Narail Sadar Sub-ordinate Court judge Amatul Morsheda issued the arrest warrant on Wednesday. 

One Sheikh Ashik Billah on December 29, 2015 lodged a Tk 1 crore defamation case in Narail Sadar Sub-ordinate Court against Khaleda Zia accusing her of making derogatory comments on the number of the Liberation War martyrs, 30 lakh, and Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in a rally in the capital on December 21, 2015.

The same person filed a case in the same court against Gayeshwar Chandra Roy for making derogatory remarks on the martyred intellectuals in a programme in the capita on December 25.
