Mass arrests in the name of combing operation: Rizvi

Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Senior Joint Secretary General of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Saturday said government has detained activists of BNP in the name of anti-militant combing operation across the country.

‘Government is not eager to eradicate militants but they nursed it and now they are trying to curb down the BNP men,’ he said in a press conference at BNP’s Naya Palton office at noon.

He claimed that law enforcers have arrested 1200 people in the name of combing operations.

Law enforcers have started a weeklong countrywide anti-militant combing operation across the country after killing of SP’s wife on June 5 in Chittagong.
