Kamran’s body reaches Sylhet
The body of former Sylhet City Corporation mayor Badar Uddin Ahmed Kamran, who died from coronavirus at CMH in Dhaka early Monday, has reached Sylhet.
An ambulance carrying him and his younger brother Enam Uddin Ahmed and elder son Doctor Arman Ahmed Shiplu left for Sylhet around 7am and arrived at his house at Chorarpar around 12:20pm.
He will be buried beside the graves of his parents at SCC’s graveyard after namaz-e-janaza at Manikpeer Thila.
Kamran died from coronavirus while undergoing treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka early hours of Monday.
He was in isolation after he tested positive for coronavirus on June 5. He was admitted to the Corona Isolation Centre of Sylhet Shaheed Shamsuddin Ahmed Hospital on June 6 after his condition deteriorated. Later, he was shifted to CMH and was on oxygen support at the Intensive Care Unit of the hospital.
Earlier on May 27, Kamran’s wife Asma Kamran, General Secretary of Sylhet Metropolitan Mahila AL unit, also tested positive for coronavirus. She is receiving treatment staying in isolation at home.
