Dhaka North AL leader dies from coronavirus

A local leader of Dhaka North Awami League has died from coronavirus in a city hospital.

Deceased Azizur Rahman Bachchu, 70, was former vice president of the AL unit.

He breathed his last at Regent Hospital in Uttara around 3am on Thursday, said Dhaka North AL former assistant publicity secretary Azizul Haque Rana.

Rana said Bachchu's wife also tested positive for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, and she is undergoing treatment at Anwar Khan Modern Hospital.

In his Bachchu's death, AL general secretary Obaidul Quader expressed condolences, and prayed salvation of the departed soul.
