Stringent security measures taken for peaceful puja celebration: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said that the government has taken stringent measures emphasizing on the overall security during puja, reports BSS.

The Hindu community in our country celebrates puja peacefully as the government under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina believes in inter communal coherence and respect”, Quader said.

He made the remarks while addressing as the chief guest at the cloths distribution ceremony here at city’s Dhakeshwari Mandir on the occasion of Durga Puja.

Quader said that tight security measures has been taken and assured the people of the Hindu community stating that the security enforcement forces are there for them to have a smooth celebration of the Puja.

The Minister called upon the enforcement forces to remain cautious about the vested interests of those people who could create chaos and sabotage anywhere during the festival.

Asked about PM’s anti-graft drive Quader said that as a part of government’s zero-tolerance policy against corruption, the operation will continue to trace down the wrongdoers.

“The drive is being conducted for the beneficial of the citizens and the betterment of the country. Terrorism, drug dealing and corruption will be eradicated from the country for good”, said he.

Mentioning about PM’s order to keep the offenders away from the grassroots committee he said that anyone trying to tarnish the reputation of the government won’t be spared.

Awami League (AL) organizing secretary AFM Bahauddin Nasim, Haji Mohammad Salim, AL deputy office secretary Barrister Biplob Barua, Dhaka South AL general secretary Shah-e-Alam Murad, publication secretary Akhter Hossain, councilor Hasibur Rahman, chairman of ‘Bangladesh Puja Udjapon Porishod’ Milan Kanti Dutta, general secretary Nirmal Kumar Chatterjee, chairman of ‘Mohanagar Sarbojanin Puja Committee’ Shailendra nath Majumder and general secretary Advocate Kishore Ranjan Mandal were present among others, during the programme.
