27 JCD men, 3 journos injured in ‘BCL attacks’ at DU

Thirty people, including twenty-seven Chhatra Dal leaders and activists and three journalists, were injured in attacks allegedly by Bangladesh Chhatra League men on Dhaka University (DU) campus on Monday afternoon.
The injured journalists are Anisur Rahman of Students Journal, Rahatul Islam Rafee of Dainik Pratidiner Bangladesh, Afsar Munna of Dainik Business Bangladesh.
The injured JCD men and journalists were admitted to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
Witnesses said, JCD General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shamol along with his some supporters went to Hakim Chhatar to give an interview to a television. At that time, Chhatra League’s DU unit President Sonjit Chandra Das asked them to leave the area. Later JCD men went to TSC area and they were attacked by the supporters of DU President there.
In this connection, JCD General Secretary Iqbal Hossain Shamol, said we were attacked by Chhatra League’s DU unit President and his supporters. Out mobiles and motorcycles were snatched.
However, Chhatra League’s DU unit President Sonjit Chandra Das, denied the allegation of the attacks. He was staying in Central Library of DU, Chhatra League leader claimed.
