Rowshan Ershad declared JaPa chairman

Jatiya Party co-chairman Rowshan Ershad has been declared as new chairman of the party.

JaPa presidium member Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud made the announcement at a press conference held at his Gulshan residence on Thursday. 

Rowshan Ershad will perform as the party’s chairman from today. The council will be held within six months, he said.

Rowshan Ershad and JaPa central leaders Sohel Rana, Golam Kibria Tipu, Mujibul Haque Chunnu, Nasim Osaman, Fakhrul Imam, Liakat Hossain Khoka and SM Faisal Chisty, among others, took part in the press briefing.

Earlier on July 18, JaPa Secretary General Md Mashiur Rahman Ranga declared GM Quader as the party chairman following the death former chairman HM Ershad.

On July 23, Raushan along with seven MPs and two presidium members gave a statement refusing to accept GM Quader as party chairman.
