Shimul Biswas asked to surrender in 2 weeks

A Dhaka court has ordered to surrender Samsur Rahman Shimul Biswas, special aide to BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, before a lower court within two weeks in a case of interrupting police duty.

A HC bench, comprising by Justice Jahangir Hossen and Justice Mohammad Riaz Uddin Khan on Monday passed the order after hearing a bail petition filed by him.

Senior Advocate Khandakar Mahbub Hossen and senior lawyer Masud Rana stood for Shimul while Deputy Atorney General Jahid Sarwar Kajal represented the state. 

Masud Rana said, a case was filed with Shahbag Police Station on the allegation of arranging a procession at the court premises, Shimul Bishwas had interrupted police while they were on duty as the chairperson of BNP went to appear before the court in a case.

Shimul Biswas was absent in the charge sheet filed in the court over the allegedly procession until he was included on 20 November last year. He submitted a bail plea in the court but he was ordered to surrender within two weeks.
