9 get death for C’nawabganj Jubo League leader murder

A Chapainawabganj court has sentenced nine people to death and two others to life-term imprisonment in a case filed for murder of Shibganj Jubo League leader Monirul Islam.
Additional District and Sessions Judge Md Showkot Ali passed the order on Thursday around 12:15 pm.
The court fined all accused Tk 2 lakh each and also acquitted four people in the case.
On October 24, 2014, Monir was gunned down by the miscreants beside the Shibganj upazila stadium. He was the treasurer of Sonamasjid land port C&F agents association and the general secretary of Shahbajpur union’s No 1 ward of Jubo League.
