BNP leader Rumeen Farhana takes oath as MP

Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP) lone MP-elect to reserved seats for women in the Jatiya Sangsad Rumeen Farhana took oath today, reports BSS. 

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury administered the oath at her Parliament office. Senior Secretary of Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Dr Zafar Ahmed Khan conducted the oath-taking ceremony.

JS chief whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury, whip Iqbalur Rahim, whip Abu Sayeed Al Mahmood Swapon and Captain retd. AB Tajul Islam were present at the oath taking ceremony.

Rumeen, assistant international affairs secretary of BNP, submitted her nomination on May 20 and the election commission declared her elected from the reserved seat on May 28.
