Reza Kibria made Gono Forum secretary

Reza Kibria, son of former finance minister of Awami League government Shah A M S Kibria, has been made general secretary of Gono Forum.

Executive President Subrata Chowdhury on Sunday disclosed the information while announcing the party’s new committee at a press conference held at National Press Club.

There is no change in the post of president as eminent jurist Dr Kamal Hossain had been leading the party since its establishment in 1992.

The newly former secretary Mostofa Mohsin Montu got the post of member of the party.

Reza, an economist by profession, joined Gono Forum, a component of Oikyafront in November, last year.

He contested the December 30 election under the BNP’s paddy sheaf symbol.

Reza’s father, Shah AMS Kibria, served as the finance minister under the Sheikh Hasina-led government from 1996 to 2001. He was elected as a member of parliament from Habiganj-3 constituency in the 2001 general election.
