Local AL leader hacked, shot dead in Rajbari

A local leader of Awami League (AL) was hacked and shot dead by the miscreants at Pangsha upazila in Rajbari in the wee hours of Thursday. 

The deceased was identified as Pikul Bisws, 40, son of late Jalil Biswas. 

He is the younger brother of Sawrisha union parishad chairman Azmal Al Bahar and was the organizing secretary of the union unit AL. 

According to the source, Pikul came under the attack when he was returning to home from Sawrisha bazar around 1 am. The miscreants hacked and shot him after intercepting him. Later he was first admitted to Pangsha upazila health complex and then to Faridpur Medical College Hospital where the doctors declared him dead. 

In this connection, Ahsan Ullah, officer-in-charge of Pangsha Police Station, said they are looking into the matter.
