Tk 43 lakh stolen from Jatiya Party office

A sum of Tk 43 lakh was stolen from Jatiya Party Chairman Hussain Muhammad Ershad’s Banani office in the capital early Tuesday. 

No written complaint was filed, but police are looking into the matter, said Banani police. 

Some police personnel were deployed at the party office.

Khandaker Delwar Jalali, Deputy Press Secretary of Ershad, said: “Tk 43 lakh was stolen from the party office after breaking the office locker.” 

In this connection Mokhles, Sub Inspector of Banani Police Station, said: “I visited the spot. They didn’t file any written complaint about the matter.”

Earlier on April 24, Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad filed a general diary with Banani Police Station, seeking protection of his properties as he has been unwell over the last several months.
