Falu gets bail
A Dhaka court on Thursday granted BNP chairperson’s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu’s bail in a case filed for ‘subversive activities’ upon a reconsideration petition submitted by his lawyer hours after turning down a bail petition, reports UNB.
Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Shahriar Mahmud Adnan passed the order hearing a reconsideration petition filed by the BNP leader’s lawyer Sanaullah Miah hours after the same court had rejected a bail petition on Thursday.
Sanaullah Miah filed the reconsideration petition showing reasons that his client’s health condition deteriorated after learning that his bail petition had been turned down by the court and he needs medical treatment.
The court took cognisance of the appeal, revoked its previous order and granted him bail till August 26, Sanaullah Miah told reporters after the hearing.
Earlier, on June 18 The High Court granted bail to detained BNP chairperson’s adviser Mosaddek Ali Falu in a case filed with Badda Police Station under the Explosive Substances Act, clearing the way for his release from jail.
Detective Brunch (DB) of police arrested Falu from the gate of BNP chairperson’s Gulshan office on February 1.
