Khaleda refuses to go to BSMMU
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, who is now in jail, on Monday refused to go to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) for her necessary treatment.
All preparations was done to take her to BSMMU, but she expressed his unwillingness to go the hospital, said the jail authorities.
Regarding the matter, a press briefing was held at BSMMU at 1:15 pm, while the hospital director Brigadier Genral Md Abdullah Al Harun said the jail authorities confirmed that Khaleda Zia will not come to the hospital.
Earlier on Sunday morning, the authorities took preparations to take Khaleda Zia to the hospital for ensuring her better treatment as per the court order.
On March 4, a high-profile BNP delegation led by its secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir met Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan to discuss Khaleda Zia’s health condition and her treatment.
Khaleda Zia is in the Dhaka Central Jail at Nazimuddin Road since she was sentenced to five years’ imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8, last year.
On October 6 last year, Khaleda was admitted to the BSMMU where she received treatment for nearly a month.
