Sayeedi’s son Masud denied bail, sent to jail
A Pirojpur court has denied bail petition of convicted war criminal Delwar Hossain Sayeedi’s son and Indorkani upazila chairman Masud Sayeedi and ordered to send him to jail in a case filed under the Explosive Act.
Pirojpur Additional District and Sessions Judge Shamsul Haque on Tuesday passed the order after Masud appeared before the court and sought bail.
Earlier, Masud got six months bail from the High Court in the case that is ended today.
According to case statement, Masud was holding a meeting at a house at Saeedkhali area in the upazila on December 25. On information, police conducted a drive in the house and detained two Jamaat activists and recovered 5 petrol-bombs and some cocktails from their possession while Masud fled away after getting presence of police.
Later, Ohiduzzaman, Sub Inspector of Indorkani Police Station, filed a case against twelve people including the upazila chairman Masud and Jamaat supporters Md Zakir Hossain and Obaidullah.
To be noted, Masud Sayeedi was elected as chairman to Indorkani upazila in 2014.
