4 leader resign from Jamaat terming it as anti-liberation

Four local leaders of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami have resigned from their post terming it as an anti-liberation party.

The local leaders announced this at a press conference in Gaibandha on Monday. 

Abdul Halim resigned from president of Jamaat, Gidaree union under Gaibandha sadar upazila, Kutub Uddin from General Secretary, Md Alim Uddin from 5 no ward member and Md Rafiqul Islam Badol from 7 no ward president.  

Earlier on Friday, Jamaat Assistant Secretary General Abdur Razzaq resigned from the party citing the party’s failure to apologise for its role in the Liberation War and bring reforms to the organisation.

Later on Saturday, Bakhtiar Uddin, general secretary of Jamaat, Bherberi Union under Khansama Upazila in Dinajpur resigned from the party citing Jamaat as anti-liberation war element.
