Former AL lawmaker Baten passes away

Freedom fighter and former Awami League (AL) lawmaker Khandaker Abdul Baten from Tangail-6 constituency died at his official residence at Jatiya Sangsad bhaban area in the capital early Monday.
He was 75. He had been suffering from chest pain.
He left behind wife, two sons and one daughter to mourn of his death.
His namaz-e-janaza will be held at Sheikh Russel Mini Stadium at Nagarpur upazila in Tangail on Tuesday at 11am. Later he will be buried at his family residence.
Baten was elected member of the parliament as an independent candidate in 2008. In 2014, he was also elected member of the parliament with AL ticket.
