Latif Siddiqui withdraws from election

Abdul Latif Siddiqui, an independent candidate for Tangail-4 constituency, has withdrawn from the election.

He went to Election Commission at Agargaon in the capital and submitted a written complaint to Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Sunday at 11:45am.  

“There is no environment of election in the country,” he said while briefing the journalists. 

Earlier on December 19, Latif Siddiqui was admitted to hospital after he fell sick during his fast unto death protesting the attack on his motorcade on December 16.

Latif Siddui was a former minister and the Awami League (AL) presidium member. He was suspended from AL over a controversial remaks about the hajj in 2014.
