Attack on Fakhrul’s motorcade in Thakurgaon

A group of miscreants has attacked on the motorcade of BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir in Thakurgaon. 

He came under the attack during the election campaign at Banarhat area of Begunbari union in sadar upzila of the district on Tuesday. 

Some of the vehicles were vandalized. The casualties could not be known immediately. 

BNP chairperson’s press wing member Shayrul Kabir Khan confirmed the matter to the journalists.

According to the source, Fakhrul went to Thakurgaon from Dhaka for election campaign today as he is contesting the national polls from Thakurgaon-1 and Bagura-6 constituencies. 

However, the election campaign begins in full-swing across the country from today as Election Commission (EC) has opened the campaign field after completing official formalities.

As per rules and regulations of EC, the candidates will be able to continue their campaign till midnight on December 28, ahead of 32 hours of voting day on December 30.
