AL to declare polls manifesto after getting symbol
Ruling Awami League will announce its election manifesto after the fixation of symbol for next Jatiya Sangsad polls slated for December 30.
Party presidium member Dr Abdur Razzaque, the convener of an AL sub-committee for preparing the upcoming election manifesto, said this at a press conference today, reports BSS.
He added: “Awami League President Sheikh Hasina (Prime Minister) will disclose the election manifesto before the whole nation through a formal press briefing immediately after the election symbol allotment.”
Replying to a query, Razzaque said AL will go to the people’s doorsteps with the manifesto that will incorporate various time-befitting issues, including economic growth and more industrialization, accelerating ongoing progress, poverty alleviation and human resource development.
He hoped the election manifesto would be accepted by all as overall development of different sectors, including power, education and health, were given priority there.
“Our future challenge will be to ensure nutrition and developed food security . . . We’ll try to highlight the techniques how to prevent corruption as well,” the AL leader added.
Prime Minister’s Economic Affairs Adviser Mashiur Rahman, AL Adviser Dr Anupam Sen, Joint General Secretary Dr Dipu Moni, Organising Secretary Mohibul Hasan Chowdhury Nowfel, Information and Research Secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain and Deputy Office Secretary Biplob Barua, among others, were present on the occasion.
