The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) on Monday started the interview of their nomination seekers to select the final candidates who will contest the 11th parliamentary election.

The interview began with the nomination aspirants of Barisal division at 10:00am at BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s Gulshan office.

The party’s acting Chairperson Tarique Rahman, who is now staying in London, took part in the interview via video call. 

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee chair Mirza Abbas and members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Jamiruddin Sircar, Mahbubur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam Mia, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Abdul Moeen Khan, Nazrul Islam Khan and Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury are also on the parliamentary board.

The BNP will interview nearly 500 nominees for the 21 parliamentary seats at the six districts in the Barishal Division and the 36 seats in the Khulna Division.

Tarique’s participation in BNP’s nomination process raised talks on Sunday. The ruling party has filed a complaint with the Election Commission against it.
