BNP picks Kamal for lack of competent party man: Tofail
Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday alleged that BNP picked up Dr Kamal Hossain as they did not have any efficient person in their party, reports BSS.
“Dr Kamal has forged an alliance with those who wanted to kill Sheikh Hasina through launching a grenade attack on August 21 in 2004. He (Kamal) also forged the alliance with the convicts sentenced to death or life term,” he said.
The commerce minister said this while addressing a preparatory council meeting of district unit of Jubo Mohila League held at sadar upazila auditorium here.
He said if the motive of the new alliance of BNP is to oust Sheikh Hasina from power, they will not succeed. “The people of Bangladesh will stand against them (BNP and its allies). Bangladesh will become one of the best countries in the world if Sheikh Hasina retains power for another five-year team.”
Tofail, also the advisory council member of Awami League, urged all the leaders and activists of Jubo Mohila League to work together to lift the country to the highest peak of development as well as make Sheikh Hasina the prime minister again.
Renowned women leader Anwara Ahmed was present at the meeting as guest of honour with Jubo Mohila League convener Khadija Akhter Swapna in the chair.
Advocate Momtaz Begum, MP, zila parishad chairman Abdul Momin Tulu, sadar upazila parishad chairman M Mosharraf Hossain, district Awami League joint general secretary Enamul Haque Arzu and its organising secretary Moinul Hossain Biplob, among others, spoke at the meeting.
