Oikyafront leaders isolated, politically bankrupt: Quader

Bangladesh Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quader today said newly floated Jatiya Oikyafront leaders are isolated from the people and politically bankrupt and that’s why they have opted to go to foreign diplomats before going to the people, BSS reported.

“They have made mistake from the very beginning. Without approaching the people, they approached the foreign diplomats. They want to bring the foreigners into confidence. They don’t feel the need to bring the people into confidence,” Quader, also Road, Transport and Bridges Minister, said.

He was talking to newsmen after inspecting the work to turn Tangail highway into four-lane in Chandra area in Gazipur this afternoon.

“The rally of Jatiya Oikyafront in Sylhet was not stopped, but suspended for the time being over security reason,” Quader said, adding, “These people repeatedly failed to raise any movement in last 10 years. People are now in election mood and none are interested in their movement.”

The minister said 90 percent work of Chandra Flyover has completed and it will be opened in next two months.
