Police have arrested Shah Nurul Kabir, former lawmaker of BNP from Mymensingh-8 constituency in a case filed under the Special Power Act.

Confirming the matter, Isshorganj Police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ahmed Kabir said he was picked up from his residence in Kakon Hadi area of Ishwarganj upazila around 3:30am early today.

He will be sent to court today, he added.

Shah Nurul Kabir is the president of one faction of Ishwarganj upazila Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP). He was elected MP from Mymensingh-8 in 2001 but failed in 2008 election.
