Medical board submits report on Khaleda’s health

A medical board formed to examine the health of jailed former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia on Sunday handed over the report to the authorities of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). 

Head of the medical board and BSMMU Internal Medicine Department Head Prof Dr Abdul Jalil Chowdhury submitted the report to BSMMU Director Brig Gen Md Abdullah-Al-Harun.

“The report will be sent to the jail authority today,” said BSMMU Director. 

Earlier on Saturday five-member medical team examined Khaleda Zia in jail.

On Thursday the government formed the medical team led by Prof Abdul Jalil Chowdhury.

Other members of the team are cardiologist Professor Harisul Haque, orthopedic surgeon Professor Abu Zaffar Chowdhury, ophthalmologist Associate Professor Tariq Reza Ali and physiatrist Associate Professor Badrunnesa Ahmed of BSMMU.

Khaleda Zia was sentenced to five years in prison on February 8 in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
