Sheikh Anny Rahman attacked in Pirojpur

Awami League nomination seeker for next national polls from Pirojpur-1 constituency Sheikh Anny Rahman was allegedly attacked by some unidentified miscreants at Bilash premises in the district on Tuesday night.   

She is the wife of Sheikh Hafizur Rahman, cousin of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and daughter of former Awami League lawmaker Enayet Hossain Khan.

Anny claimed that, her motorcade came under the attack when she was returning to Pirojpur from Tungipara after praying at the mazar of Bangabandhu around 8:30am.  

Around 20 to 25 youths attacked and shot on her motorcade but no one was injured. In reply, her husband opened fire in the air, Anny added.  

However, Anny’s supporters staged demonstration protesting the attack in the district. 

In this connection, Pirojpur Additional Superintendent of Police Molla Azad Hossain said they are investigating the matter.
