Rebels to be expelled from party, warns Quader

Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Saturday said rebel candidates would be expelled from the party directly if they contest in upcoming national polls against the party nominated contenders.

Quader, also the Road Transport and Bridges minister, came up with the remarks while addressing a rally at Gharinda Railway Station in Tangail, reports our Tangail correspondent.

Earlier, an Awami League delegation, led by Obaidul Quader, left Kamalapur Railway Station in Dhaka in the morning for Nilphamari by train to carry out electioneering in northern districts.

He said that those who failed to create anarchy in the country in 2014 are now preparing to create disturbances and indiscipline.

“We along with people of the country will resist their anarchy,” he added.

Quader along with other central party leaders reached the Tangail station around 11:00am and resumed his journey to Nilphamari by the train around 11:30am.

The delegation will hold more than 11 rallies at railway stations in Tangail, Pabna, Natore, Bogra, Joypurhat, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts.
