Fakhrul demands military deployment in upcoming national polls
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has demanded deployment of the armed forces in the upcoming general election scheduled to be held this December.
He came up with the remarks on Saturday while addressing a rally in front of the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka marking the party’s 40th founding anniversary.
He also demanded instantaneous release of the BNP’s imprisoned chairperson Khaleda Zia and its other leaders.
He said the premier must resign before the announcement of the schedule for the next general election in late October.
