Movement is needless for fair polls: Quader

Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has urged Juktofront ((United Front) leaders to take preparations for the next general polls.

The next national election is acceptable by all stakeholders, so movement is needless for free, fair polls, said Quader, who is also the General Secretary of Awami League, on Wednesday while talking to journalists in the capital’s Shaymoli area.

“If their movement goes on peacefully, we don’t mind, but if they are trying to create any unrest situations, then actions will be taken to make sure public’s safety,” Quader informed.

The ruling party general secretary said politicians who are doing positive politics, not accused in any cases and have no connection with violence and any other crime, will not be arrested.

About the BNP’s threat of movement, Quader said the country’s people don’t trust them.
