Quader rules out dialogue with BNP
Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said on Sunday his party has no scope to hold any dialogue with BNP as the latter observes fake birthday of its chief Begum Khaleda Zia on National Mourning Day, reports BSS.
“BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia has five birthdays. At first, they (BNP) should fix her actual birthday. After that we will think whether dialogue can be held with them or not,” he told a discussion marking the National Mourning Day at BSMMU auditorium.
Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said on the martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman BNP will arrange milad and doa mahfil to demand release of Khaleda Zia.
Such programme of BNP will prove that they cannot refrain from observing her fake birthday, he said.
Swadhinata Chikitsak Parishad (SWACHIP) organized the discussion with its President Prof Dr. Iqbal Arslan in the chair.
Former Health and Family Welfare Minister Prof AFM Ruhal Haque, Prime Minister’s former adviser Prof Syed Modasser Ali, BSMMU Vice-Chancellor Prof Kanak Kanti Barua, Awami League Organizing Secretary AKM Enamul Haque Shamim and AL Health and Population Affairs Secretary Dr Rokeya Sultana, among others, addressed it.
Quader said BNP could not build up any movement even for nine minutes in the last nine years. Failing to wage anti-government movement, BNP hatched conspiracy to take advantage capitalizing on students’ movement for safe road, he added.
The minister said BNP’s conspiracy over students’ movement came out unsuccessful and now the party is lodging complaints to foreigners to tarnish the image of the country.
