Criticizing the extrajudicial killing during anti-drugs drive, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi said that the government would bring great-disasters for themselves blowing the smell of burnt gunpowder in the air.

He said: “On the one hand, the conspiracy of the government is implementing to scare the people. On the other hand, law enforcement forces are running trade by threating to kill innocent people ahead of Eid-Ul-Fitr. During every Eid, the law enforcement forces are being given the opportunity to run such trade. Now, killing trade is on alongside arrest trade.”

Rizvi said these while briefing newsmen at 11.45 at the party’s Nayapaltan central office in Dhaka on Saturday.

Accusing the killing of BNP men he said the leaders and activists of opposition parties including BNP has been killed in the name of anti-drugs drive and many are being also targeted anew. 

Terming the anti-drugs drive as killing and arrest trade he said, “Now, in the name of ongoing anti-drugs drive across the country, police harassing general people, especially leaders and activists of opposition parties including BNP and collecting a huge amount of money from them.”

Law enforcement forces is demanding money after arresting innocent people, if they fail to pay the demanded money, they are being brutally killed in crossfire, he added.
