BNP doesn’t get permission, demo Wednesday
Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will stage demonstration at each thana of Dhaka city on Wednesday as police did not permit them to hold rally demanding release of the jailed BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi came up with the announcement at a press briefing at the party’s central office at Naya Paltan on Monday.
He said that they would stage the demonstration as the police did not allow them to hold rally in Dhaka.
We were waiting for permission of DMP commissioner till Sunday night. But, Dhaka Metropolitan Police on the night informed us that we will not be allowed to hold the rally, he added.
BNP chairperson’s advisor Abdus Salam, BNP joint secretary general Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal, assistant organizing secretary Abdus salam Azad, assistant office Secretary Belal Ahmed and executive member Aminul Islam were also present at the press conference.
