Khaleda gets bail until April 5
A Dhaka Court has granted bail in the Zia Charitable Trust corruption case until April 5 to BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who jailed for five years in the Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case on February 8 last.
Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 passed the order on Wednesday.
Although Khaleda Zia was supposed to produce before the court but not taken to the court.
Deputy Commissioner (Prosecution) of the court Anisur Rahman said that she will be taken to the court if the Judge Orders.
Earlier, on March 13, Judge Md Akhtaruzzaman of the Special Judge Court-5 issued an order for concerned authority to produce Khaleda before court on March -28-29 in the graft case.
The anti-corruption commission (ACC) filed the Zia charitable corruption case in August 2011 with Tejgaon Police Station accusing four persons including Khaleda of abusing power to raise funds for the trust from unknown sources.
It is mentionable, the former premier landed in jail on February 8 after a special court sentenced her to five years' rigorous imprisonment in Zia Orphanage Trust corruption case.
