BNP to hold rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on Mar 19

Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) will hold a rally at Suhrawardy Udyan on March 19 demanding the release of its chairperson Khaleda Zia from jail.

The party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Monday said this at a press conference at the BNP’s political office at Naya Paltan in the capital.

BNP will also hold rally in Chittagong on March 15, in Barishal on March 24 and in Rajshahi on March 31.

Earlier on March 2, BNP declared to hold a rally at the Suhrawardy udyan today but the Dhaka Metropolitan Police didn’t permit them.

A special judge’s court in Dhaka on February 8 sentenced Khaleda Zia to five years in prison in Zia Orphanage Trust graft case and following the sentencing, she was sent to Dhaka Central Jail in Old Dhaka.
