Hasina to begin election campaign today

Sheikh Hasina, the president of the ruling Awami League, is going to begin her election campaign and tour from Tuesday ahead of eleventh parliamentary elections.  

The campaign will formally start on the day after the visit to the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal and Hazrat Shah Poran in Sylhet. 

Confirming the matter to Jago News, source said that she will address an election rally on Tuesday at Alia Madrasa grounds in Sylhet and seek votes for the party’s candidates.

Following the Sylhet tour, she will hold a public meeting on next February 8 in Barisal, source added.

According to source, in this way she will start to visit every district of the country to seek votes for the party's candidates after concluding tour in eight divisional cities.

The Awami League is seeking a third consecutive term in office to continue its development works.
