Now polls to 18 DSCC wards suspended
All proceedings of the election to eighteen wards of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) have been suspended on Thursday.
The High Court came up with a stay order to suspend the process of holding elections to eighteen wards of DSCC a day after the stay order on Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) mayoral by-polls.
A High Court division bench comprising Justice Torik Ul Hakim and Justice Md Faruk (M. Faruk) passed the order on Thursday morning.
The elections to eighteen wards of DSCC were scheduled to be held on February 26.
The court also issued a rule asking the Election Commission and the government why the schedule issued by the EC for holding the elections should not be declared illegal.
