Home minister orders Ivy, Osman to restore peace in N’ganj

Awami League conveyed a strict message to Selina Hayat Ivy and Shamim Osman, two public representatives of Narayanganj city through Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal. 

Asaduzzaman has ordered Ivy and Osman to restore peace in Narayanganj following the command of Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on wednesday.

Confirming the matter, Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told Jago News that the party General Secretary Obaidul Quader told me to convey the message  to them (Ivy Rahman and Shamim Osman) so that they be calm. I did so. I told them to be calm and to assist administration. 

I phone both them today (Wednesday) to find a peaceful solution, he added.

On the other hand, Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader said that action will be taken against those party men who are tarnishing the image of the party through brewing violence in public places.

Quader came up with the remark over Narayanganj mayhem at a press conference on Wednesday at party chief’s political office in Dhanmondi.

He said, ‘I phoned both of them (Ivy Rahman and Shamim Osman) to stop any untoward incident after getting phone call from Narayanganj Police Super (SP). We’ll call both and investigate into the matter.’

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal is looking into the matter and will take actions, he added. 

A fierce clash broke out on Tuesday between two group of followers of Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy and Shamim Osman over the evection drive against hawkers from footpath in Naraynaganj city.  

At least fifty people, including Narayanganj City the mayor Dr. Selina Hayat Ivy were injured while they locked into clash at 5pm in Narayanganj city.
