AL finalizes nomination in 6 pourasabhas

Bangladesh Awami League has finalized nomination in the mayoral posts in six poursabhas as well as in the chairman post in the Patuakhali district council.

The nomination was finalized at a meeting of the AL Local Government Nomination Board held at Ganabhaban, the official residence of the prime minister, on Friday evening.

AL President and AL Local Government Nomination Board Chief Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina chaired the meeting.

Those who got the Awami League ticket in the mayoral posts in the pourasabha election are Wahiduzzaman Suja (Boda pourasabha in Panchagarh), Sabujar Siddik Sagor (Birol in Dinajpur), KM Zakir Hossain (Bonpara pourasabha under Boraigram upazila of Natore), Md Aakkas Ali (Bagha in Rajshahi), Saifur Rahman (Alfadanga in Faridpur), and Shahina Begum (Bakshiganj in Jamalpur), an AL press release said.

The AL also nominated Md Khalilur Rahman Mohan in the chairman post of the Patuakhali district council by-election and Mosammat Feroza Khatun in the vice-chairman post of Sherpur upazila (Bogra) woman vice-chairman by-election.

At the meeting, the party also finalised their candidates in the chairman posts of 47 union parishads.
