AL leader slaughtered to death in Satkhira

Unknown miscreants killed a local leader of Awami League (AL) by slitting his throat at Koikhali Beribadh area of Ashashuni upazila in Satkhira on Sunday night.

The deceased was identified as Solaiman Gazi, son of late Mokched Ali, general secretary of ward no. 9 unit of AL under the Nolta union of Kaliganj upazila.

Locals said, Solaiman was playing Carrom at Chak bazar at night and after getting a phone call he left the spot. Later, local people found him dead near Chak bazar area and informed the matter to the police.

When contacted, Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Ashashuni Police Station, “The body of an AL leader has been recovered and police have started operation to find the clue behind the murder.”
