Nasim describes attack on Khaleda Zia’s motorcade as drama

Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammed Nasim today described the recent attack on the motorcade of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia on the way to Cox's Bazar Rohingya camps as an orchestrated drama staged by the party itself.

"BNP itself arranged drama of attack on the motorcade of Begum Zia. Investigation is underway into the drama and truth will come to the light soon," he told a discussion arranged marking the 100th anniversary of Russian Revolution and anniversary of Samyabadi Dal at Engineers Institution auditorium here.

Nasim, Awami League Presidium Member and also spokesperson of 14-party alliance, said Khaleda Zia did not go to Cox's Bazar to convey her sympathy to the persecuted Rohingya people who took refuge in Bangladesh rather she went to carry out election campaign capitalising the Rohingya issue. He said the next general election would reveal which party has support of how many people.

"If she went to extend her cooperation for Rohingyas, she could go by air.

. . she could not go with a motorcade by spending crores of money," he added.

Nasim said Khaleda Zia made falsehood even when she went to provide relief goods to Rohingyas.

"Khaleda Zia said the government and Awami League did nothing for Rohingyas. How she as a former prime minister could make such a big lie? The countrymen will reply to the falsehood in the next election," he said.

Workers Party President and Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal President and Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu and Communist Kendro Convener Wazedul Islam addressed the discussion with Samyabadi Dal General Secretary Dilip Barua in the chair.

Menon in his speech said if terrorism, militancy and Jamaat-Shibir cannot be eliminated, tough time will appear in the coming days.

"If we think, we have won in the war after bringing war criminals to justice and their executions that will be a mistake. War criminals, Jamaat-Shibir and their patrons will have to be uprooted to this end," he observed.

Inu said socialism is the strongest weapons in establishing rights. "We are in favour of socialism. Repressors are against of socialism."
