EC to hold dialogue with AL on Wednesday
The Election Commission (EC) will hold dialogue with the country's largest political party Awami League (AL) on Wednesday as part of the commission's continuous talks with 40 registered political parties ahead of 11th Jatiya Sangsad election.
According to the EC schedule, the commission will sit with AL at 11am on that day.
About the dialogue, Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader told newsmen at the secretariat that his party would place 11-point specific proposals during dialogue with the Election Commission.
EC has been holding dialogues with political parties as per the commission's work-plan to hold the next parliament election.
The commission held dialogues with civil society members on July 31 and media representatives on August 16 and 17. Later from August 24, the commission started holding talks with 40 registered political parties. So far, EC held dialogues with 35 parties.
On October 19, EC will hold talks with Jatiya Party (JP) at 11am and Liberal Democratic Party at 3 pm. Later, it will hold dialogues with election observer on October 22, women leaders on October 23 and with election experts on October 24.
