BNP willing to assist government in facing Rohingya crisis
BNP is ready to cooperate with the government in facing Rohingya crisis, said the party’s Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
“We don’t want division in the country. We want to cooperate with the government in facing Rohingya crisis,” he said at a press conference held at BNP’s central office in the capital’s Naya Paltan on Sunday noon.
The BNP leader also urged the government to stop mudslinging. He said, “We want to say the government and concerned ones, let’s stop mudslinging at each other and deal with the problem together.”
Fakhrul said, “Myanmar government is carrying out attack on humanity. Talking to UNDP representative, we came to know that around one million Rohingyas have already entered into Bangladesh.”
“The government had to make national unity engaging all political parties and professionals to face the terrible situation. Instead of doing that, the government unlawfully prevented BNP’s relief work”, he said.
“It proves that the government relief distribution is just show off,” he added.
