Khaleda plotting abroad against government: Quader
Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia is hatching conspiracies abroad against the government.
“We know everything where, who and what is being discussed in London, Dubai and Bangkok. We know in what way who are hatching conspiracies to oust the government of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and who are the behind the scene plotters,” he told a discussion at Engineers Institution auditorium in the city.
Bangladesh Awami Jubo League organized the discussion marking the 42nd martyrdom anniversary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and National Mourning Day.
The minister said BNP wants to go to state power through conspiracy as like the past. “The next general election will be participatory, free and fair. BNP knows people will not cast their votes in favour of BNP so that they again started hatching conspiracy,” he added.
The AL general secretary urged the party leaders and activists to stay alert and to be united to resist the ill forces. “If BNP comes to power again, the country will face worse situation than 2001,” he added.
Dhaka University (DU) Pro Vice-Chancellor Professor Nasreen Ahmed, Dhaka University Teachers' Association (DUTA) President Professor ASM Maksud Kamal, Jubo League General Secretary Harunur Rashid, Presidium Member Shaheed Serniyabat and Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury, Dhaka City North Jubo League President Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil and Dhaka City South Jubo League President Ismail Chowdhury Samrat, among others, addressed the function with Jubo League Chairman Omar Faruq Chowdhury in the chair.
