BNP has no right to do politics: Hanif
Awami League Joint General Secretary Mahbub-ul Alam Hanif today said BNP has no right to do politics in the country as the party was founded by Ziaur Rahman, the main plotter of the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman along with his family on August 15, 1975.
"The party which does politics of destruction and wants to make the country a subservient state of Pakistan, has no right to do politics in Bangladesh," he said speaking at a discussion at Shilpakala Academy here.
Awami Jubo League (AJL) organized the discussion marking the 87th birth anniversary of Bangamata Begum Fazilatunnessa Mujib with Jubo League Chairman Omar Faruque Chowdhury in the chair.
Dhaka University Professor Sabita Rezuana Rahman, Jubo League Presidium Member Shahid Sherniyabat, AJL City North Unit President Moinul Hossain Nikhil and AJL City South Unit President Ismail Chowdhury Samrat, among others, addressed the discussion.
Hanif said the registration of Jamaat has been cancelled for their role and crimes against humanity during the Liberation War and the mass people are now demanding to ban the politics of Jamaat.
"People hate the kingpins who were involved in the brutally killing mission of Bangabandhu and his family members," he said.
"We want posthumous verdict about Ziaur Rahman, the main plotter of killing Bangabandhu along with his family," Hanif said.
