Next election will be held on time: Nasim
Awami League Presidium Member Mohammad Nasim today said the next parliament election will be held on time as per the constitution.
“Many people came up with many formulas regarding the election...but those will yield no benefit as we will not move even one inch from the constitutional demand,” he told a memorial meeting at Jatiya Press Club here as the chief guest.
Ganotanthri Party arranged the meeting on the memories of its former president Azizul Islam, former presidium member Aminul Islam Badsha and former general secretary Gias Uddin.
With Ganotanthri Party president Barrister Arosh Ali in the chair, it was addressed, among others, by Samyabadi Dal general secretary Dilip Barua, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal general secretary Shirin Akther, MP, Ganotanthri Party presidium member Prof Dr Shahidullha Sikdar, Communist Kendro convenor Dr Wazedul Islam Khan and Ganotanthri Party general secretary Dr Shahdath Hossain.
Nasim, also the health and family welfare minister, said BNP failed to foil the election of 2014 and will not able to foil the next election.
“The 14-party alliance under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will come to power in the next parliament election getting huge mandate,” the minister hoped.
