BCL votes to elect new committee

Polling to elect the president and secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League has been held at Engineers Institute Bangladesh in the capital.

The voting started around 10am Sunday.

A total of 3,108 councilors casted their votes in the election. Of them 484 casted vote from the organisation`s central committee, said Abdullah Al Zahid, Assistant Secretary of the existing committee.

Some 15 candidates run the race for president post after the withdrawal of some nominations, while 25 competed for the post of general secretary, he added.

He assured the poll went peacefully.
